This means that the largest media empire in the world can't build a Web site that works any different in real time, technological terms, than that of the average web site, and that the most "effective" form of marketing - (having a search engine friendly and useful web site) is also the most "cost effective" form of marketing 

In fact some applications such as dynamic database can make a web site far less capable of utilizing free advertising mechanisms that are available on the internet. 

The same exposure that the internet can provide for free by having a well designed web site, if purchased in the form of T.V, Radio and Print advertising would cost many millions of dollars. 
  
The World Wide Web is a long way off of full frame good quality real time video on demand, being transmitted over the internet by TV networks. 

As fast as band width availability improves at least in the near future, slightly better applications will suck it all dry again. 

It currently takes minutes to download any movie or sound clip that you wish to watch, that is of any sort of quality, 

WEB T.V is not the phenomena of "T.V being transmitted on the world wide web", nothing unsolicited / not searched for, is able to be broadcast on the internet. that's the big allure of the world wide web for many people, it is not able to be controlled by large organizations with their own agenda. 

WEB T.V  technology is "the world wide web being browsable on new specially designed T.V's, in much the same way as teletext", or by the use of a web T.V box that sits on top of your T.V set which has a built in modem, and all of the components needed to convert  computer display to the T.V screen,whilst using a proprietary browser. 

This system still needs to be fed a signal from, a telephone line to use the feature, though, high definition broadcast, fibre optic cable, or satellite broadcast are all capable of providing access.  

Designing a site for web T.V at this time is a speculative investment in the future, that will limit your internet design choice today.  

Many web site compatible aspects are not compatible with T.V display, some of the already limited 216 colour pallet, of cross platform internet browser compatible colours, flouresce if displayed on a T.V display, normal size computer fonts are to small to be read on T.V, and the display area of a web T.V browser is smaller than VGA computer display, of 640 x 480 pixels, which would require most frame enabled sites, to excessively horizontal scroll, and any site designed for web T.V would have to be toned down in colour as well as display a font size of 18pt to be optimal for T.V, even though this would make a web site look like it was designed for the visually challenged to be able to read at 100m. 

If browsing the internet on a T.V was the only issue the same thing could be achieved with a modem and PC to T.V converter costing a couple of hundred dollars AU, using the components from an old computer that you thought was consigned to a fossil museum.  

Once we are all hooked on Web T.V - interactive T.V,  both T.V network, and Microsoft advertising agenda's, further microsoft domination of the world in the areas of, T.V media, as well as the internet, paid avertising and classified advertising, travel, car sales etc. will no doubt come to the for as part of the grand plan. 

In years to come WEB T.V technology could be responsible for bringing the internet into almost every home with a T.V, as long as access to the greater internet is always provided through the WEB T.V's built in browser and the internet or T.V standards change to make both more compatible with each other.
